Book Wyrm Review of Slawter by Darren Shan

It has been only a few months since Grubb's Uncle Dervish has returned from his battle with Lord Loss, and he's been having mental problems. Dervish sleep walks through the halls of the mansion screaming and fighting imaginary demons, he attacks Grubbs believing him to be Lord Loss. So when a famous movie producer comes to there home offering Dervish a job on the set of her new movie Slawter they snatch the offer believing a change in pace may be just what Dervish need. But when actors start going missing and the demon become real, Grubbs will be forced to fight the demonic master of sorrow Lord Loss face to face.

Slawter is the third book in the Demonata, and after I read the book I was slightly disappointed. It was predictable. It had all of the excitement and adventure of the other books but you could predict every meager battle. Grubbs is scared but somehow finds the courage deep down to save everyone. It was always win win win! There was no real pain in the story no loss for the character that there was in the first and second books in the Demonata series. Loss and sadness is what makes a book shocking! Reader connects more strongly with the character when he goes through even the slightest loss.
